I'm trying to determine the likelihood that my baby is a pullet. Mom is. Heritage RIR. Dad was a black EE Roo with a single comb and feathered feet.
Baby hatched chipmunk striped. Attaching pic of Mom, Dad and baby. Any insight?
Mom lower right, dad in the middle.

It looks pullet, but I could be wrong. Lift up her hackles and look at the base for new rooster ones coming in. Do the same on her back. If you see little, pointy, shinny ones coming in, that means it's a rooster.

It's too early for male specific feathering. That usually comes in at around 12 weeks.

I'm on the fence, but I think I'm leaning towards cockerel. @TheOddOneOut @Overo Mare what do you think?
@TheOddOneOut already thinks cockerel lol. I was wondering if I would get different answers showing the parents. I guess if some genetics hold true, it's a boy since there is more of the mother's coloring. The comb has me stumped though.

Actually, you must have the parents wrong.
What other birds could be possible parents?
