Have you searched your yard to see if they made a "secret nest"? My girls used to do that all the time.

Same here. We were only getting a few eggs a day and then I noticed a little dirt nest in some huge weeds in my pen and there was probably 3 dozen eggs there. Chickens are sneaky.

Yes chickens do take a break. My friends chickens took a 3 month break and then started laying again. Yours probably won't take that long but they do stop one in a while. I have 23 laying hens so I don't really notice a break at all.

We've got 9 hens total and have averaged 6-8 eggs a day. Still plenty to eat but was a little worried I wasn't getting any brown eggs for a few days
