RIR or New Hamp Reds?????

Quote:
A Production Red is a RI Red that has been selectively bred, over many generations, to emphasize production over appearance. They bear little resemblance to Reds bred to conform to the Standard.
The "Red" in New Hampshire Red isn't a matter of personal preference. The actual name of the breed is New Hampshire, no Red.
Your bird is a production bred RI Red, not a New Hampshire. The ground colour of the 2 breeds is very different. BTW-RI Reds should have black in their tail so the presence of black would not identify the bird as a New Hampshire.
Not sure if this is "comforting" but it is accurate.

great to see you, B!

I think many people need to see the data about Prod. Reds NOT being a product of RIR x NH. Most people assert that a Prod R. is such a hybrid, F1 or otherwise.
