RIR pullets or cockeral

No, we got them from a feed store and they said they're pullets. I called the hatchery this morning and was told that sometimes orders get mixed up and if we do end up with a bunch of roos they will ship us pullets. I hate the fact that I've become attached to them.

It's hard not to when they're so young and surprisingly very friendly.

GOOD NEWS

I found a photo of my oldest Buff the same age..... I think we both have a bunch of pullets. They look exactly like they are suppossed to look...

I think you have 2 pullets and 1 cockerel mainly because one's comb is more pink. Plus, it looks like in the picture to me that the one with the pink-er comb is less feathered out.

Once upon a time I had quite a few RIRs (before the neighbor's dog came around) and I could tell easily at around two weeks because my pullets had big time wing and tail feathers and the cockerels had more prominent combs.

However, I can see that you are saying that they are all looking the same to you. Usually I can tell more by looking straight down on the chick, instead of from a side view.

Sorry...it is so hard with pictures...wish I could see them in person.

I went out and checked them in person and it must have been the reflection in the flash of the camera.. all three combs look the same as far as size and color... the feathers I am not so sure of.. When I did the little test where you hold them in your hand and cup them and stretch them.... when they were one day old they tested two hens and one roo. I remain hopeful!

Actually, I think mine are a bit larger. I just took this pic, I'm running around between them and to a goat who is starting to go in labor.
