My RIR red rooster died over the weekend. He was only 7 months old. He had no marks on him from a predator or anything. He died right in the coop at night. The breeder I purchased him from said it was likely due to him eating something plastic or metal. He did seem a little bloated the last few weeks but I thought he was just fluffing up because of the cold weather and I have been letting them free range during the day under supervision.
I can't help worrying that this could have been a disease or something that killed him. All the hens seem perfectly fine. None of them seem bloated. Is there anything I should do or just wait and see if anyone else gets sick?
