This little mama is a Silkie X something bantam, she's a great broody, those are BC Marans chicks that she hatched.

most definately! you know alot of people say they dont like mixies, but dont seem to think that all of these breeds were at one point mixies. in the very very very old days nobody really cared about breeding pure chickens. all they cared about was food from them. i understand progression but why should the mixies of the world be left out? my wonderful broodie momma is a silkie mix and i wouldnt trade her for anything in this world. she is a sweetheart! lots of love to everyone this fine day!

most definately! you know alot of people say they dont like mixies, but dont seem to think that all of these breeds were at one point mixies. in the very very very old days nobody really cared about breeding pure chickens. all they cared about was food from them. i understand progression but why should the mixies of the world be left out? my wonderful broodie momma is a silkie mix and i wouldnt trade her for anything in this world. she is a sweetheart! lots of love to everyone this fine day!

She has not started laying yet though. I imagine another month or 2. There was another member who had a SilkiexRIR cross that ended up being a rooster. This bird had more white in it though, especially in the saddles.
