Went out about an hour ago and my RIR was by herself standing on the other side of the pen. I watched her for a few minutes and she would walk a couple steps, squat and raise her wings, like she was trying to push something out. I picked her up and gently felt for an egg. None felt. I turned her over and her vent is about silver dollar sized on the outside, not open, but red and wet. No blood or yolk seen on her. A few weeks ago she seemed like she was having a problem laying an egg and the one she did lay had some blood and white residue on it. Anyone have any ideas?

You might try a sitz bath of warm water. Then carefully blow her dry w/ blow dryer. I put Lucy in a nest and she layed a egg within a egg in 15 minuets. Some tomes eggs are so far up you can't feel them.
