    Hi, new here!

I have a hen that is having drainage out of her bottom.
It is white in color and seems like a red bulging area around her bottom as well. No blood though, and I don't see any bloody poops anywhere?? I am new to raising hens and just noticed this today. Any one have a clue?

    Thanks!

I'm no expert, but maybe she's egg bound? I've heard of that alot. Not sure how to treat that either. Hope someone helps soon.

anytime my RIR lays, she has what looks to be a chalky white sustance coming from her vent and down her fluffy butt. She has never been eggbound and I just assciate it to extra calcium coming out when she pushes egg out-did yours just lay an egg?

Have you searched the site for "prolapse"? What you are describing -- the red bulging area and the white discharge -- sure matches what I have seen in the pictures of prolapse on the site.
