I'm finding out there different RIR's. Something called layers and one called Heritage, or something like that. One is 'flighty' and one not. When you order chicks how do you know what you're getting. I think I have two that are the flighty kind. I don't care for um at all. They're to much like a white leghorn.

I believe if you get from hatchery, they will be called production reds. The Heritage are like the truly real back in the day Rhode Island Reds. They are a beautiful deeper shade red.

Where do I get the older type of RIR? These two I have two I have now are nuts. They run at the snap of a stick.

If you go to the wanted to buy forum on here and post that you are looking for Heritage RIR then you should get a bunch of people who can help you. There are many people who breed them on here
