Hello! This is my first flock of chickens-- just turned 18 weeks old today. A few weeks ago on another board a fellow BYC member mentioned that they think my RIR might be a Roo. I am new, but she doesn't display the behaviors that my roo does. So, it has been nagging at me a little and I wanted to gather more opinions to set my mind at ease. Here she is!

Pullet , my RIR birds have huge combs and waddles by 9 weeks, this has small thin leggs also.

At 18 weeks you would see hackle and saddle feathers if it was a cockerel.

I have two RIR's and was told by the feed store that they were both born on 4/1/12. One had "rooster tendencies" from the start and had a bright red comb by 16 weeks! He was plumping up nicely these past few weeks and we were fixing to roast him as soon as he crowed but he laid an egg on Wednesday!

Yours is a hen! She has a very nice tail.
