She is a pretty gal!
The rooster are pretty easy to sex young, I've got 5 week old RIR's/Production reds that I've known the roos for the last few weeks. They really do grow the comb/wattles much quicker then the hens and personality really comes out quick.
But kinda funny side story I was out at a small farm purchasing something totally different when I noticed this person had chickens and asked if they were selling a rooster. He immediately says "YES" and points out this one RIR chicken and said "I need to sell him as I don't want a rooster". I told him then I didn't think it was a rooster but he insisted it was, had witnessed it crowing, riding his hens, and being a general pain in the chicken butt!
Guy charges me $2 for the "rooster" and I bring him home..... Where she promptly laid an egg the next day for me! LOL I tried telling the guy it wasn't a rooster but he made too many comments that women don't know anything about farming and so I'm very happy I brought home my 22 week old pullet!
