I was leaning towards rooster because it doesn't have a tail. Everything else looks about the same to me. Of course I have NO experience. These are our first chickens. I hope we're both wrong. I want to keep them both!

I am about 99% positive that you have a pair.
If you look at picture 5 and 6 the pullet (the one in the back) has lacing in her plumage which is common for hatchery type Rhode Island Reds (production Reds) the other one (the one closest to the camera) has a little less lacing and darker in color over the back, in the wing and a little darker in the neck. He also has a over all more bigger/thicker look than the one in the back.

I definitely agree. I noticed the lacing immediately in those last pics, practically identical to one of my girls. The "roo's" bumbly (tushy, whatever you want to call it
) looks like it will be sprouting sickles, and also as Chris said, his whole body is bigger overall.
