Risks of moving a hen trying to lay?

We're having trouble catching a free range hen to place her new coop.
When she is laying an egg we could catch and transfer her within a couple of minutes. They always calm once I put my hand over their eyes but I am still worried about harming her. Can it be done safely?

If not you could trap her while laying then grab her when she is done.
