ritual sacrifice

I got a few emails from that chickenrunrescue thing... I feel that they are not really my type of "rescue"... and rather one sided personally. Not too sure about their goals and intentions. Reminds me of other animal groups we cannot speak of. If we eat, we are sacrificing the life form we are consuming regardless if it was plant or animal. Just the way the word sacrifice vs butcher is used puts a negative connotation on the whole idea. Just seeing a few of their associations makes me doubt them even further.

Yes I think I tend to agree with you. After starting this thread and thinking about 'things' some more. (ie: most anybody who eats meat, uses cosmetics, etc.).

I have on occasion boughten 'supermarket chicken' for my dog to eat. I prefer the handgrown type myself. But I still won't buy eggs at the supermarket..

I do not see anything wrong with people killing their own chickens rather than buying at the supermarket. In fact I think I prefer it.

I think my question has been answered, or my curiousity satisfied. The more I think about this, the less I really see anything wrong with it. It is just the hype some people give to it. And I think the mystery of it all.

that rescue is a little over the top,I think it would be easier to get a child then one of their chickens..
