Saw everyone's post about Roadrunners, I too live in a rural area and have lots of rattle snakes. Why don't they bring roadrunners in to control them instead of the fire department to relocate them?

That would be a big undertaking to bring in Roadrunners to take out rattlers. LOL The birds also eat lizards, frogs and bugs, etc...Snakes are not their first choice of food. It would take a LOT of Roadrunners to keep snakes at bay. Roadrunners are very shy birds around humans as well, unlike the average rattler.
 
So everyone wirh snake problems should look into getting some guinea fowl. They are alarms around the homestead plus helps with snakes!
