Arran chuckled. “You lead the way bud, I’m sure you can find something to fit your appetite.”
He followed the young tyrant across the rocky plains.
“And hey, if it’s too big we can take it down together and tell Isla about it so we can all come back later for seconds.”
Cragan was a bit offended by these latest comments. Did he just call me "bud?" Something to fit my "appetite"? He sounds like my dad.
And even if he couldn't finish whatever they nabbed, he certainly didn't want to share with Isla. She was too rude and condescending. But she'd be impressed... Maybe a victory over the small prey would silence her comments on his not being good enough for the hunt forever.
"Sounds like a plan. Let's go for some midsized prey. Small prey is too tender, anyway. I'd like something I can get between my teeth. So I can show... I mean, so we'll have food for later."

(I'm not the best at writing so I apologize if I'm not helping develop the scenes much, hoping I'll improve as we go :))
(It's just starting, and so probably a lot of us are having a hard time. I'm still trying to figure out who is who because I can't remember who's in what tribe yet.)

Nox stood slightly apart from his thunder. Something in a small puddle to his left caught his attention and his mind strayed as he gazed down.

The moment of inattention was shattered by a commotion near the pond's shore behind him. He snapped his head around and the scene that greeted him caused him to go numb.

No! Nox spun round and raced forward, towards a scourge. A scourge that held one of the younger tyrant in it's jaws. No, no, no! The rest of the tyrants stood by in shock. He pushed harder but the distance to the pond was too far and this scourge was efficient... and gone by the time he arrived.

(ayy, goodnight 🫣)

Nox watched the ripples of the water fade away in the scourge’s wake. He turned to the tyrant laying still on the ground and shuddered.

He’d gotten too complacent; it was his responsibility to care for this thunder and this wasn’t. Tyrants were far from the only prey-eaters living in this swamp, he knew that. He glanced over the tyrants as they began to recover from their shock.

What if it had been- He growled, he could never have forgiven himself if that had happened and everyone within his thunder was equally important to him. Losing any was losing family. He was failing his family.

This was an unprovoked attack, that scourge hadn’t been looking for a meal and had no intentions of dealing with an entire thunder at once. Nox had feeling this wasn’t the last he was going to be seeing of this scourge

Arran nodded as he listened.
“You wanna find a young hadrosaur or something?” He asked, tilting his head towards Cragan as they walked.
“I think they’re hanging around the swamps this season.” He nodded east. “Hopefully they’re not all fully on the Wetlander’s territory..” the orange-brown tyrant perked up as if he’d had an idea, gaze locked towards the direction he’d mentioned.

Lotus studied the branch of a tree as a line of ants marched up and down it in an orderly fashion. She looked at it and wished she could interact with other tyrants as well as these ants could with each other. She knew patrol duty was lonely and that it was the only way she could contribute to her thunder but she really wished she could do something better than wandering around pointlessly. There hasn't even been a Mountaineer sighting in three sun & moon cycles she thought to her self. She looked off in the direction of the Canyon Runner's territory with a long half sigh half tortured groan. I wish I could see him one more time. It's been 5 years since the last time I've seen him. The video of him walking away with an angered look after their verbal fight kept replaying in her mind as though it was taunting her with the regret of not joining him. *Crack*. She snapped her head around just in time to see a shadow lung at her with lightning speed. She flopped to her back and kicked with all her might sending her attacker flying and slamming into a tree. She got to her feet just as the attempting killer lunged at her again, jaws gaping. She ducked under and grabbed the aggressor by the throat and flung them to their back. " I may be small," she snarled at the attacker ", but I'm not too small to kick you're tail up that snout of yours! Who are you and what are you doing on our territory!" she growled in so much aggression, she even kinda scared herself. Just then she realized that the attacker was another Tyrant, and not just ANY Tyrant. It was her BROTHER. She gasped in awe. " SPRUCE!!!" she yelled not even caring if the rest of her tribe heard her. " IT'S YOU!!! IT'S YOU!!! I CAN'T EVEN BELIEVE IT'S YOU!!!" She shouted with glee prancing in a circle around him.She rubbed her snout against his neck and into a hug-like position. She sat there breathing in his new and unfamiliar scent she didn't quite recognize.

Spruce was confused. First he thought he was attacking his thunder's dinner, the next he was all of a sudden being hugged. The stranger pulled back from the embrace with a light and gentle gaze into his eyes. He was confused. He wasn't used to all the trees so his eyes didn't adjust to the dim lighting of dusk. He tried so hard to see who it was and why they were so gleeful to see him. Just then a firefly , as though a miracle , flew by the stranger's face just bright enough to see that it was his SISTER!! He couldn't believe it!! His ACTUAL SISTER!! ALIVE, HEALTHY, and THRIVING!! He shook the worry from his body and joined her in the happy moment of bouncing joy. He stopped and said " WOW!! HAH!! I CAN'T bel-IEVE it!! You're ALIVE!!" "ME!?!" she shouted in teasing response " I thought YOU wouldn't survive out there!! I always believed that they wouldn't accept you and would kill you because you're a scavenger!! Anyways you were made for the cool damp swamps, not hot and dry canyons!" " I know but," he said with a hesitant pause " I want to be in a Thunder I know can support each other and survive. As a scavenger all I heard were negative rumors about our original tribe." She looked at him with what he suspected was disbelief." We've survived this long, and they are a much more sustainable tribe than you'd expect." she said confidently. " Well" he paused " come and join the Canyon runners! It's a much more organized and well established tribe. Plus, no one would come looking for you anyway."

Lotus Couldn't believe her ears. She looked at him with a disdainful stare. " WHAT DO YOU MEAN!?! I HAVE FRIENDS HERE!!!" He looked at her with confusion" Oh, really!?! A 15 YEAR OLD FEMALE that is smaller than a 10 YEAR OLD MALE that is only a patrol look out is high in the food chain and well respected!?! HMM!?! I don't believe it.". Just then came crashing through the shrubs " WHAT'S GOING ON HERE!?!" he/she spotted the orphan tyrant and snarled " you TRAITOR!!" he/she glared at him. " GET AWAY FROM HER YOU DISGUSTING TRAITOR!!!"

Hopefully someone can continue this and fill in the tyrant that calls spruce the traitor.

hopefully I didn't write one TOO long:confused:

Rageada held her head low to the ground, barely touching the dirt with her front claws. Her tail wagged only a little. More would be too obvious. She came to a boulder and crouched behind it. She glanced over her shoulder, but nobody was following her.
Good, she smiled. She grabbed the boulder and pulled herself upright, peering over the green landscape. Yellow flowers waved against the tall grass and a nearby stream trickled its way down the mountainside.
Rageada turned her back to the boulder and slid to a seat.  Nothing, she tightened her jaw. Boring flowers, boring grass... Why did it have to be so boring? There had to be something exciting somewhere. Or at least something she could terrorize.
She crossed her tiny arms. Wait on an avalanche, maybe she was at the wrong place? Maybe she got her direction wrong or....
"Ha!" Rageada jumped up. Get  her direction wrong? Never! She was talented. Skilled! She would  never get something as simple as a hunting spot wrong. This was someone else's doing, and she was going to figure out who's.
She snuck around the boulder and studied the faraway treeline. There had to be someone down there, she knew it. Rageada sniffed the brisk air, but she could only smell the stream on her right. The wind's wrong, she stared hard. The breeze would be just enough to warn others that she was coming if she wasn't careful. She turned to her left and snuck down through the thick grass. Maybe circling around would be enough to throw others off.
