Roaming ducks

My two ducks stick their heads threw the wire into the chicken run to drink out of the chickens water bowls even though they have their own and a pond. Just like kids the want what someone else has as it always better then what they have.

To the poster whose ducks go and swim in the drainage ditch when it rains, my guess the reason they do this is because the rain brings worms and other insects to the surface and they find lots of good things to eat as the float by. Mine always head for the areas on the place that pond and work and work the water for insects.

Just get a duck crossing sign. My neighbor used to have three runners and every day either theirs would cross the road to my house, or mine would go over to theirs. They just like a change. As long as they cross where they cant get hit by a car I would let them go.

my neighbors had 3 pekins and she gave them to me until i had the money because they kept on going over. Last night was the first night in a week that the ducks didnt go over. The neighbors ducks keep going back over every know and then. my neighbor said that they dont mind it butt i dont want to have to keep on going back over to get them. I dont think there is a snapper i havent seen one or no signs. there is no creek or river for a few miles. How could it have got there. I had put a quater size painter turtle in the spring could that. the pond is only about 75 feet by 150 feet its like a strip?
