Robin abandoned nest! Could the eggs be alright?!??

If you touch that nest (or babies when if they hatch) mom may abandon them. Anytime she or dad see a perceived threat they may move away as a distraction. They may fly to another place and make a racket to draw you attention. I'd leave it be and watch from afar for a a week or so to see what is going on.

Great news! Momma has been back lately and chicks are here! I only saw one head poking out of the nest but I didn’t look long cause I didn’t want to disturb them. I will check on them every once in a while. We’ve forbidden the toddlers to go into the playhouse
Yay!!!

It’s almost like incubating chicks lol I’m really excited. Last year the none of the robin chicks hatched but the year before that I got to see momma teach them how to fly!
I feel the same way!! we have 2 robins nesting on our deck and a killdeer nest hatched in our yard!

Hurray! Glad to hear that there are babies!

Reading this thread brought back fond memories of grade one... a magpie had stolen an egg from a robin nest and I got angry and chased him away. Well there was a little blue egg cracked in half with an almost fully developed little chick in there (dead of course) I decided to pick it up and take it home. For some reason my dad thought that I should bring it into class for show and tell. So I did! Not sure that the kids liked it as much as I did though. Anyways I accidentally left the ziplocked egg and baby in my Gr. 1 teachers mini fridge. I never knew what became of that. For all we know it could still be there...
