As if I didn't have enough chicken problems of my own right now, nature wants to throw in robins!

We have a pair of robins that build a nest right over my chicken coop.
My kids love them and have named them and made them honorary pets.
One of the eggs never hatched so mama threw it out of the nest, 2 of the others did.
They are about the size of chicken chicks which surprised me, but they can't fly yet.

The coop is outside my bedroom and all the sudden I hear a noise and look out to see a black bird or crow (definitely not a hawk or what you would consider a bird of prey) with two chicks one in each foot. The robins screaming flying into him and he drops the chicks in my yard and flies off. All my chickens are terrified from the commotion and still 30 min after this happened all huddled together in the corner under the tree.

I ran out to check the situation. The robin chicks are in shock, but alive. One possibly has a broken wing, I don't know. The parents are above them making all kinds of noise. I think one tried to pick the chick up but it can't. They're just sitting out in the open in my yard.

I know it might not be what you're supposed to do, but I figure the robins have seen me around them and seen me caring for the chickens, so I'm hoping their bird brain sees I'm trying to help. I grab the ladder and try to put the one back in the nest, but it's too high. The second I never touched.

What do I do??? Obviously I don't want my chickens to come over and peck them or this horrible black bird to come back. They can't fly and the parents can't help. I can't reach up to put them back. This is so stressful, they we are honorary "pets"!

Also super scary because they are the size of chicks I've let run around my yard before. I watch for hawks but never thought of a black bird!!!! We have a decoy hawk statue in the yard, but apparently it's worthless....

Suggestions on anything I can do???
