Robins eggs/ Hope I did the right thing

Here's some info on what robins eat:

I would offer a wide variety of food, and the main thing is that once you start, you can't stop, not even for a day. They will be raising more babies than naturally possible and relying on the extra food. Without it the babies will starve. I would start extra food now, the parents are already working hard and you want as much weight on them as possible for when those babies hatch.

I would also put a bin with a towel in it under the nest, so if a baby falls out it is soft. Even if a couple babies had to be removed at a week old, they have a much better chance of survival.

Good idea about the extra food... but offer it away from the nest... Robins really work hard at hiding the nest and if you keep the food to close you will encourage predators... They even remove the excrement that each baby secrets with EVERY feeding in a little poop sack.... They travel it far away and they do that for each baby... So it isn't just a matter of only feeding.... It is a matter of housekeeping also.... Another note for those that do not know: The babies will be fledging at around 2 weeks old... So though the vigil is difficult and it takes a superhero set of parents to raise the babies.... They only have to feed and cleanup like that for a couple weeks before the babies fly.... They will stay with the parents for another 2 weeks and then they are on thier own.

I remember when I was little i picked a bunch of worms to go fishing, and left them in a coffee can near the house, well I had 3 Robin go back and forth to their nest feeing their babies. ohh well ..

Thanks everone for the replies.

I will start offering more food, around my garden. This is their usual hunting grounds. I will just make sure it's easier for them to find some
