Our "babies" are looking so grown up! Here's what they look like now with a side-by-side comparison to their chick photos. (The grown-up photos, with the exception of Sparkles, were taken a month and a half ago.) Any guesses on breeds? My guesses are based on the guesses of their eggs. All are probably 1/2 Ameracauna.

Ginger - this one is still Alana's favorite. She still lets Alana pick her up occasionally.

Sparkles - Maybe he's an Ameracauna/Silver laced polish mix?

Starlight - 1/4 Maran 3/4 Ameracauna?

"Sparkles" figured out this morning that he is definitely a rooster and wanted the neighborhood to know his good news by crowing SUPER loud.

I tried telling him to stop, but that wasn't working, so he's now sitting in a box in the kitchen w/a towel over him to keep him settled down. We actually just listed him on craigslist last night. He is so beautiful with irridescent green in his tail feathers. We'll be sad to see him go, but definitely can't keep him now that he knows he's a male.

Boy oh boy is he LOUD! We were secretly hoping we got lucky with a mute rooster... no such luck.

He's in the garage now and we're desperately trying to find him a new home (or pot) before the neighbors get upset.
