ROCHESTER, NH CHICKENSTOCK/SWAP MAY 16TH MUST CALL TO ATTEND

I have showgirls hatching. they are still in the hatcher. I think I see at least 3. glad she likes her new chick. I kept a black and one like yours for myself. I also have 3 bantams. next year I will have plenty of naked chicks in all sizes and types. they make me laugh too.

Chickie'sMoma :

oh, ChickMagnet, i wasn't sure if you got my PM about the frizzled bantam polish. they are not showing the frizzling on the feathers and by now i don't think they will.

if you don't want the splash i don't mind keeping her. she's very sweet and now i'm not sure i want to part with either one.

I would never take a chick from it's mom.I think you should keep her. I know how tough it is to part with the ones you love.

we will have polish pullets for this show as well as silkies and showgirls in multiple colors. we will be bringing brooder boxes, nest boxes and a chicken tractor. I have a suggestion for everyone. there are woods around this location and it is the beginning of black fly season. bring some fly repellant.

Chickie'sMoma :

i may have some future craft vendors if we could have any on sundays in the Rochester area or close to the Maine/NH border.

dh and sometime i do an outdoor flea market over in York, Maine on saturdays and there are a few ladies who do their own jewelery and knitting/craft stuff to sell. i mentioned that the ChickenStocks were free for them and they were interested. but since the place we've been doing the flea market at has now set some rules about reserving a space all summer, many are locked into them.

if you would like me to help out with advertising at this flea marked let me know and i can put out some fliers on my table next week.

if you have the newsletter you could print some off and take them to give out that would be great!

i got some new laying hens for this one!! and i think i will have some white leghorn pullet chicks too. plus my hatchlings. if i can hold on to any that is.

Definately bring biting insect replent especially one for ticks. Hubby has had 2 deer tick taken off him and I took one off me this morning
I already contracted Lyme so I really dont ned another flair up at this stage, last year was enough. and I would hate to hear of any one else conracting Lyme.

Bring that repelent !!

I pulled one off me yesterday when I was at my moms. Icky things.
I had to treat Rhett for lyme two summers ago. Every time I brought him in from the pasture he was COVERED with ticks and so was I.
My titer was a bit high but a round of Doxy did the trick for both he and I.

want to share my 2nd crazy chicken swap story with you all, you all know the first, the hen/roo thing.

anyway, we went to a swap today, took the red sexlink girls, we sold a few, well on the way home we stopped at dunkins and dh went in with tony k t as i am sitting in the truck i see a red hen run across the parking lot!! LOL omg!! its one of mine. so i yell and tony is coming out of the store and grabbed her, another was loose in the back of the truck. the cage door had opened, thank god we were not driving 70 down 495!
