Rockford, Illinois!

I so agree I will in the future have LAvender Blue and Black orps just go three lavender orp roosters they are in with my laying flock now waiting for the lavender black and blue cross chicks I got to grow up. I am excited to hatch some of the lavender cross from my flock though been ordering way too many eggs lol my new incubator seems so empty and I have an uncontrollable desire to fill it.
lol same but I just packed mine full

LOL I just got two huge incubators they each have a 624 egg capacity I doubt I will ever fill them although i do have some one who wants me to hatch out 10-15 dozen eggs I figured it out and each of my red wood incubators can hold 52 dozen. I would go broke ordering eggs to fill them If only my wallet was as deep as my incubators are big I am just hoping my girls get on a regular laying schedule they do not like the cold and seems like even when they do lay the eggs freeze befor I can collect them. Where are you from Carson your profile says TN

OMG... that's a lot of eggs, I think mine will only hold 48.. that's definitely enough for me. Sounds like you have an egg hatching business in your future!!

Sasimpson77 - How was your weekend? How's your chicks and all those eggs doing?

I would have liked to have cleaned out our coops this weekend, but I would have needed a pick ax, everything is still frozen.

Instead we trimmed the trees in our orchard and tapped 7 of our sugar maples trees. We are hoping that the Sugar maple sap will be flowing this week during our warmer weather. Out of our 7 trees only 1 was dripping and that one was barely dripping. We moved an old wood burning stove into the middle or our corn crib with the intention of boiling down some of the sap using wood this year. So there was a lot of dragging of items around our yard through the snow.

Wow sounds like you had a busy weekend even if you didn't get your coops cleaned out. I know I am in the same boat with my horse stalls they are still frozen solid. Chicks are doing ok can't wait to move the older ones out but man the babies are so stinkin cute lol. I had to work yesterday and today I haven't had a day off in 14 days now :( that is rough as a single mom with three kids, and then to top it all off I left my phone in the van I sold today lol but oh well I will get it back later. That is cool about your sugar maple trees I bet the maple syrup is yummy. Not sure if I told you we have a special needs chicken we have been nursing but he/she has been getting stronger everyday it now is able to eat and drink on its own only issue now is its balance it still falls down a lot but is managing to get back up on its own now. I am so happy about that we have been calling it penguin.

Horses, wow... I'm in awe of you. I have never been around horses much and I'm a little intimidated by them. What type of horses do you have?

Oh that chick is so cute, I hope he/she recovers to 100% ...... do you know it's breed? Penguin is a great name!

Sorry to hear about your phone & the fact that you've had to work 14 days in a row. I hope you don't have any problems with getting your phone back and you get a brake from work.
