Looks like my little dove egg is deciding to pip upside down.
The first external pip is near the small end of the egg. For some reason, this happens for me a lot... But only with small bird eggs. Not with large eggs. I turn five times a day, and I'm wondering whether for small birds, three times is a better idea.

I've had babies successfully hatch while pipping this way, too. I hope this baby makes it out okay. Doves and pigeons hatch a lot faster than poultry, that's for sure.
