Well... if it is any consolation - we seldom see them in action, since they walk about at night and are very stealthy/sneaky.Where we live (close to town, east of Pretoria) they do still occur, along with quite a few owl species so one should make sure the poultry is locked up securely. Most often genets are seen on the road... run over... sadly.
