Rocky64's chat thread: anything is welcome

That's good, my flocks doing good. I think they just want some warmer weather... It's been warmish and wet here which they don't like to much besides more worms to eat!

That's good. And yeah it's been wet and warm here as well, but my chickens love it. They forage in the rain even though they can go into the barn to stay dry, it's kinda weird.

Mine do that sometimes too but some hate the rain, others will go out and stand in it. :gig
Some of my chickens will run to the coop when it's raining and not go in, they'll just stand under the laying boxes which block the rain.
I think my hen Lila is egg bound. I gave her a Bath and steam to help it come out and this weird thing came out-

Yeah it just goes to show how different individual chickens are and that not every chicken acts the same, like some people think. And hmm, that looks sorta like a deformed egg, but I'm not sure.

I know this post says a few days ago or so but I edited today to save a wasted post.

I saved my hen Lila who laid that weird egg thingy. Turns out she was egg bound so I gave her multiple warm bathes to help sooth her. 2 days ago I looked in at Lila in the coop and found my golden laced Wyandotte wattles eating something. I moved her out of the way to find a weird egg parshaly eaten by Wattles. Lila is know doing much better! :)

How's everyone's birds doing?

@LoveThemBirds it sounds like your chicken had a collapsed vent. It happens when they lay to big eggs. Does she still lay eggs?

Oh I hope halk's eye feels better. Chicken fights can be so brutal... Even though people only say roosters fight.

That's good she still lays eggs...
