Not that I totally object to chipmunks running around cleaning up spilled feed, they are less offensive than other undesirables. It seems however that the chipmunks are eating more feed than the ducks, they spend all day back and forth stuffing their cheeks and running off to deposit it wherever they do. I have seen a chicken feeder that requires them to step on the bar to open the door.. honestly, I don’t think my ducks are that bright. Wondering what is out there in the world. Thinking of live trapping the monks to reduce the population..seems my cats are dropping the ball here.

I have been feeding the chipmunks around here, there's a little guy I named Steve that comes and waits for me each morning to set a big peanut out on the porch for him. :lau

I would personally give the activated feeder a try, I've heard people have good success using it with their ducks.

If you are over run with them and don't want to eradicate them? You may have to live trap and relocate. You know what works well for Bait! :lau keep us posted on how all works out. :)

We have tons of squirrels around here. They're always jealous when the ducks come and get fed. And they somehow climb up bird feeders. They can be a bit of a pest but not nearly as bad as the rats. Those darn thing chewed their way into the pool screen to get to the grill. I wish we had chipmunks though , I find them quite cute lol

I have a ballsy chipmunk that I swear is in cahoots with my chickens. They completely ignore them when it comes to cleaning up spilled feed. We also have at least a dozen squirrels that mostly stay on the other side of the property at the bird feeder. I'm wondering if a DIY no waste or a pedal feeder would stop them. Following to see if you get a solution, let me know!
