Rodents

Welcome. I think this is a hard thing to sell. Where there are chickens, mice try to be. I have mine under control using the pouches in @Debbie292d article, but I believe the best one can do is have it under control. Maybe the combination of the pouches, a cat and some traps. The problem is how fast and how many they procreate.
 
Welcome to BYC, John. I'm phobic too. That isn't an exaggeration. I can't even stand to look at a picture of a mouse or rat.
It was my biggest fear when my husband wanted chickens so he built a fortress with hardware cloth top to bottom. We also have a cat who is an extraordinary mouser. I don't know what I'd do without her.
 
Hopefully you get some chickens and it won't cause a mouse problem. I generally only try to to feed what the chickens will eat during the day so there isn't any food for mice to get into at night.
