Just get sand

I don't want to use sand, I use hay.M mom Dosent want to use sand eather, so.....Good idea on sand though!

Why not? I want sand. The coop run doesn't get muddy, they can dust bath in it if they want. It's easy to clean

One I also want them to have accesses to the grass on the other side of the pen.Two, I just don't think sand is a good idea,

We just expanded there pen a few weeks ago, and now we have snow.

My hens have enough space inside the chicken fence they would have to have like 100 hens to kill all the grass
but right now its covered with snow...........Found out our chickens hate snow --__--

Some of mine don't like it either. My Chocolate Cuckoo Orpington cockerel really doesn't like it. When I put them outside for a bit a literally have to push him out of the coop and then he just stands by the door. My White Leghorn doesn't seem to mind the snow though, she's always out there.

I let mine have the choice but if my roosters go out all my chickens are out whether they want to be or not I have actually seen my rooster push one all the way from the roosts all the way out the door
