Hello all! I am posting for my friend who had a peacock show up at her house a few days ago. He has been trying to hang out with her chickens. We are in a suburban area and haven’t been able to find an owner. Any tips on catching this guy and what we should do? Anyone in the SF Bay Area need a peacock?
She can try luring him into her coop with food if he seems hungry, or she can find where he's roosting at night and try to get him then; a big net might help.
Too bad I'm clear across the country or I'd take him off your hands.
@casportpony Hey Kathy, are you anywhere near here? Want a nice pied peacock?
So this guy is still hanging out and I found my friends Brahma dead this morning.
1. Do you guys think he would have killed her?
2. Any tips for catching him? He won’t let us get close enough for a net or a towel and he’s been roosting on the roof.
Leave your garage door half way down and put cat food on the floor, like a trail deep into the garage. When the bird goes in the garage close the door while standing in the way so it doesn't get out. After dark he will be easy to catch.
Okay, we caught him! Trapped him in the chicken run while he was eating hen scratch. (Wyle E Coyote style). Now what? There are some peafowl that hang out by a creek. Would he be okay if we left him there? I have no idea what to do with him!
