Hello. I'm switching over to grower rations from medicated starter soon, Tsc sells a grower finisher made by rolling acres. Is that OK to feed my meat birds as well as my layers this feed up until i switch them to layer feed. Or do i keep them on medicated starter until i change to layer feed .They don't have a huge variety to choose from. Thanks, your comments would appreciated.

You can change over to grower/finisher until the layers start to lay. The presence of calcium in the layer feed is what generally separates it from other feed. Layers need the calcium for shell formation. If they start to lay before you finish the food, adding oyster shell in a small bowl will allow them to meet their needs for calcium.

Before then, none of them needs the calcium. Nevertheless, my rooster has eaten the same food as the laying hens without any perceived ill effect.

Thanks for the reply, I just bought some grower/finisher and some starter tonight and blended them together ,I'll just get the grower finisher next time around. Oh and the starter at tsc is not medicated I thought it was.
