Rome wasn't built in a day, but our coop was!

oh thats good to hear , out here the sheriff is saying that if you see foxes or coyotes you have every right to shoot them . Foxes and Coyotes are running around like wild animals out here , i see maybe 20 foxes and 10-15 coyotes a day out here . Im scared some how they will get to my chickens again , thus the reason i built the coop 4ft off the ground hehe

Good call on the elevated coop - that's what I opted for too. So far so good...

I have an elevated coop too, but my vet suggested electric wire around the base of the run and house. He said the coyotes tried to dig under the fence and after he placed the hot wire they got zapped and haven't tried again. I am going to add some around the top of the run and coop as soon as we get the "remodel" done, for possible raccoons. The coop is under a tree, and even though I pruned up aways I still worry. I should have found this site before I purchased my coop. I would have gone bigger! Live and learn!
