If you could, I would take the hawk, to the university OR to a person who is native american, to IF you know some one that is in the SCA or Renn Faire.
I wouldn't waste its loss of life. The native american could use it's beak and claws, and feathers, same for the SCA and Renn Faire types. The university might be able to use it's skeleton.
