We have 1 polish, 1 BR, 2 ? and the rest of our flock of 11 are silkies.

I know we cant tell much from the silkie for Roo behavior but WHAT do we do if we have a Roo in this mix (or more than one) and DO NOT want chicks? Is there a way we can keep them apart in the same coop? Can we still eat the eggs if we do keep a Roo? The ONE bird we think is a Roo is very nice and laid back but super "watchful" over the other chickens.

I can get pictures if I can get them out of the bushes long enough.

You can eat fertile eggs. You won't have chicks, unless you let a broody sit on them. Just collect eggs every day.
You have a good number for one rooster. I'm not familiar with silkies enough to know if they'd be OK with a regular rooster.

Hi! There will be no chicks as long as you collect the eggs and don't let the hens go broody. Good luck!
