roo beat up by brother

my friend gave me a rooster,by the time i got there to get him his brother had beaten him up pretty badly.On the head and also the middle of his back.he was very timid ,that was 4 weeks ago.He seems to be doing ok,but cant balance when he tries to walk.he will try to walk but ends up putting his wings and head on the ground to balance.we have become pretty close friends and he even tries to come to me when i go close.
J ust was wondering if anyone mite have seen this action b4 i really think he may have a broken toe or foot maybe.would one broken toe cause him to lose his balance?????

yes he may have the back of his head was really messed up. but is getting better now
