I haven't noticed my roo doing his deed yet, but I've been sitting out in my yard watching my chickens and reading a lot lately and I heard squawking and looked over to see my roo mounted on one of my guineas...is this normal? Anything I should try to prevent?

Roosters will try to mount anyone. Also some roosters do not mount as much as others. I have not seen my rooster mound for about a week, I believe he only does about ones a day because I have him with one other girl and her eggs are fertilized.

Thanks! This is the first time I've seen him mount any of the others so I was a bit surprised when it was the guinea. Especially since my guineas are younger than my hens.
