Roo dilemma.

Be aware most younger roosters will have a surge of hormones in early spring again. So that's why some of mine get penned for months to get them, and my hens past that first Randy spring. Most roosters aren't fully mature until 2 years old. Before that they are erratic teenagers at the whims of their hormones.

He's too damn good looking to not give him a chance to recover from his testosterone poisoning. And he can carry a tune to boot?! Seems a no brainer to me!
Definitely not fair to compare ANY rooster to Nardole the Brave!!!
Nardole has started escorting the hens to and from the nesting box when they free range.
:th

No one compares to Nardole the Brave. Who ever heard of a young cockerel coming into his hormones waiting for the hens to squat for him?! He's a total gentleman, and a knight in shining armor all in one package!
The long and short of it is, Nardole has spoiled me, and now I am being unfair, so I'll cut Rory some slack and appreciate his good points: his crow, he gets along well with Nardole, and really, he isn't bad--there are plenty of really awful young cockerels out there, and all Rory is is mildly annoying.
