ROO Free to good home - Lavender Orpington x Ameraucana - VA

Hi everyone! We have a roo that is in search of his forever home.

We have too many roosters. He is a little shy of 3 months old. He is an Ameraucana (hen) and lavender Orpington (rooster) mix and is beautiful! His tail is the iridescent green/blue!

Location: Richmond/Fredericksburg area, VA

Is he nice?

Yes, he’s nice. I will say, he was a bit skittish and he needed time to warm up to me. We have been working on this with treats and him following the lead of our older girls. He is still hesitant time and again, but now knows I have the good stuff and makes his way over. But hasn’t shown any aggression towards us or the flock. If anything, it’s shyness around us. He is comfortable with the other chickens and happy in their company. He really is a sweet guy.

Okay. I will say I live like 2 hours away, and can’t travel really far because I have kids. So let me know how far you can travel to see if I can get him or not please.

I can meet half way.
Do your chickens free range? Will this roo be used for meat? Or as a pet/protection for your flock, etc? Do you have any other roosters? More than anything I want to make sure he goes to a good and happy home.

To answer your questions
He will be used as a pet/flock protecter.
I have other roosters, but they are kind, and they do well with others.
And he will be free ranging on a little over half of an acre.

Hey, sorry it took me so long to reply. i have been supper busy. I probably shouldnt take hm. recently ( in the past week) there has been a predator problom and we are trying to stop the problem but don't think it would be the best time to bring anymore chickens in right now. I am sorry, I hope you find a home for him. I am truly sorry I can't take him. Best wishes.
