Roo...Hen???

Ok this one threw me for a loop. My mom's neighbor has a couple of Golden Comet hens and a silkie roo. He acts like a roo, crows like a roo, looks like one, has fertilized the hens eggs and they hatched under a one of the hens. For all intents and purposes, he's a roo. But everyone in that house, my step father, and others around them all say he lays eggs. I never saw it but did see one of the supposed eggs. It was more like a cigar shape about 3 inches long. They say all of his eggs are like this. This doesn't make a lick of sense to me, but what do you all think about it?

I have heard a story like that before...however, I'd believe it only if there was a video of him doing the deed!
