roo noisier when they see other roos or not?

We are designing our new coop with breeding pens/runs. I didn't know if it was better that they could see each other or not? I know I have one roo that the others can't see now and everytime he crows all the others start crowing, yet the ones in the main community don't seem to "compete". Experience or opinions please ?

All mine can see each other; all the pens are adjoining. I have 15+ roosters but only 2 that crow regularly, and they don't seem to compete or anything.

They have their regular crow times like early morning and early evening and other than that they are pretty quiet.
