Roo or Hen? Blue Cochin

She does have an extra toe. Only on one foot though. Her feet appear to be similar in color to his as well. Her extra toe is very tiny but she does have one. I can post a pic in a bit. I just have to have my son take it when we are bringing them back inside.
Most likely a hatchery quality Faverolle then! Even if it is only one tiny extra to on one foot.

I know that the lady that gave them to us ordered them on mypetchicken.com She was my sons kindergarten teacher and she hatched them in class. I have been sending her pics every week to show the kids.

Is it possible that at this age the cockerels would start fighting? The 2 boys are flying up at each other. Jumping on top of each other. Staring each other down.

They start that early. Right now it is mostly play. As long as no one is coming out with more than a couple peck marks on the comb, it is fine. If either one becomes more aggressive (i.e. lots of blood, flogging the other bird when it is clearly trying to run) give the aggressive one away or eat it.

Here are pics of two Delaware cockerels I had going at it. They were about 6-8 weeks in the photos.

That is exactly what they are doing. I have someone lined up for my Salmon Faverolle thank goodness. I am going to try to get rid of him sooner now.
