Roo or hen?

I got this chicken as a chick about a week old now it is about 17 weeks old. It hasn't made much noise until now but the sound it's making isn't like a cluck like the rest it is more of a crow like a roo but only for a sec and only occasionally.. I'm curious is she really a he? If anyone can help that would be great. Also I don't know the breed either if anyone knows.

I think it looks like a she!! Did the comb just start growing quickly? That’s what happened to my hens right before they began laying!

The tail looks more like a hen than a roo to me too!!

With this breed/hybrid, the males and females look nothing alike coloration-wise.

Plus you can already see the the hackle feathers on his neck and the saddle feathers growing behind his wing. Very handsome bird

Yes the chicken grew fast past couple weeks almost doubled in size. That was my first worry was that this one was advancing so much faster you can see another chicken same age behind this one. Well unfortunately we aren't allowed to have roosters where I live so I might have to re-home him if it is a him.. I guess I will wait until he starts making to much noise.

Very true. Most red sex link roos have more white than this particular bird, but being that their hybrids, coloration can be more unpredictable than with purebred chickens
