Roo or Hen

Yep, which is why she is considered a pullet. Generally females are hens once they've reached one year of age. Some people will call them hens after they've laid their first egg. Obviously the bird in question hasn't laid an egg, or her sex wouldn't be in question. ;) But the correct terminology is pullet until she's a year old. Same for males. Cockerel is the correct term until they are over one year, at which time the are called cocks, or roosters by those that find the other too offensive or risque.
