So, my neighbor about six weeks ago found this chicken running loose and very hungry. We assumed it was a hen, however it is huge, appears to be growing pointy saddle feathers and my husband swore he heard it crow. I have a flock of six older hens and anytime I try to introduce this chicken to them, they will not accept him/her. This chicken is extremely docile and hides when in the coop. They free range during the day, but at night this chicken roosts above the coop, while all the other hens go into the coop for protection. It has yellow legs so I am assuming it is a buff Plymouth rock, but I don’t know. Any advice on the breed or the sex would be appreciated.
