Roo or Hen???

One of my flock, I am 90% that is a roo. They were all hatched April 22. He is a gold laced wyandotte. I have included 2 pics of him and one of a hen the same age (all came from the same order). I read another thread about a gold lace roo, and this one looks just like him

I think you're right. The first two pics look like a Roo and the third pic looks like a pullet.

Thanks, thats what I have been thinking too

I started noticing besides the comb and waddle, the tails feathers looking full and fancy LOL. There is usually nothing like that with a hen

Hey thats pretty good though, I ordered 25 pullets, they sent 26, we lost a few and I sold a couple and out of the 20 we kept, I ended up with one roo

I think thats good

I know I ordered pullets, but I have known of people ending up with 5-6 roos in their pullet order

The last one's definitely a hen. The first one's definitely a roo. Middle one...I'd vote roo.

I have only ever had hens, at what age do roos start crowing?

Out of 31 chicks, I only got one roo. He started crowing at 7 wks or croaking I should say. He's a EE. From what I've read it can be anytime maybe up to 20 wks?

They are only 13-14 weeks right now, but over the last couple of weeks I noticed differences physically compared to the other hens

I was suppose to get 5 gold laced and ended up with 3 gold laced and 2 silver

My neighbor has a BEAUTIFUL EE rooster. He was hatched in Jan or Feb and has been crowing for about a couple of months. So I figured this guy was on his way soon

I can't wait for all my hens to start laying. I basically got a whole new flock, since when I started last year, I bought adults and most of them were older and layed everyday and I have lost all of them and thats why I decided to start with a large flock of babies
