I'm cryin on the inside. I don't want a roo. I have 4 hens. Poor girls will never get any rest and I will never have any eggs to eat! Right??!!!!

Why wont you have eggs to eat??? Are you allowed to keep a roo? They can be a gud asset, also my friend only had 5 girls and he had a roo, he collected and ate the eggs every day and his girls were happy, I think it would depend more on what temperament he has

Hmmmm.... I am going to have to investigate. I was very much not prepared for this! Lol

Oh. And we named "her" bit**. That should give you an idea of the temperament! :)

hthompson you may feel like having a roo is a disappointment now but if you give him a chance you may think otherwise. Cochins are good chickens. I have three BANTAM Cochin roos at the moment and enjoy each of them. As far as eggs are concerned, there is no difference in taste.

If you decide to get rid of your roo no one should hold that against you. But you may just be surprised at how much you like one.

Wish ya the best.
