Roo or not

My mom's roo didn't crow until 6 MONTHS old and he's not the only one. Search around these boards and you'll find that the age range is huge.

Single comb, yellow legs and white ears...what is it? they look like a welsummer with white ears. Odd cross.

The one may have saddle feathers coming in. Check the neck feathers, if rounded ends then hen, pointed is cockerel. Or post another pic of good side view close up.

That's a brown Leghorn pullet. 100% sure. Males can't have that color pattern, ever.

OH, and Leghorns are known for BIG combs, even on females.

I see two brown leghorn pullets and the white one is probably an easter egger, looks like a pullet also. They can make a lot of noise laying eggs, but by the looks of things, you're getting eggs soon--nice red combs!

It's hard to stop a rooster from crowing. I live in town and have a roo. I can hear him crowing at 6 in the morning in his coop, so what I do is let the hens out and keep him in. It seems to work, and my nesting boxes are separate from the coop so they can still go and lay their eggs:)

But it does look like a hen to me..The tail and build look different than a male's; plus if it is a male he would likely be crowing by now. My BR started at about 12 weeks old.
