Roo or Pullet Barred Rock?

Girl BRs at that age should have tiny yellow-pink combs, slim legs and bodies, and dark pattern.

Ours is definitely older than yours. I'm thinking more like 12-14 weeks. She had a very definite head spot as a chick so we thought girl but obviously we're wrong. It literally just crowed outside my window as I read your response though

Ok well I’m not an expert and I did have a barred rock hen that looked very similar soooo

The males are then ones with big head spots. Females have definitive but tiny ones.

Ok well I’m not an expert and I did have a barred rock hen that looked very similar soooo

He is only 10 weeks and pullets at 10 weeks have much smaller combs and wattle. So you may have had a hen that looked like him but she was probably full grown.
