Roo or Pullet? Black Orpington

Black Orpington chick 5 almost 6 weeks old. Supposed to be a pullet

but the red comb has me questioning it!

May very well be a cockerel. The next couple of weeks will tell for sure.

Orpingtons are "slow" maturing, with that much color to its comb & wattle leaning toward cockerel. Repost pics at 8wks

Looks like a little boy to me… good news is that breed is generally friendly and good with kids, very calm and docile like even as roosters!

Yes! I love Orpingtons for that reason
