Roo or Pullet? BR chick

We had one from the same hatchery last year that had me guessing, she ended up with a lot of white to her. Here are some photos of Blue from chick until today. She had me wondering for a bit too if she was a roo, so maybe we just have another Blue Jr coming up!
Is Blue a Plymouth Rock? I’m new here and learning.

I thought if Plymouth rocks had a big white splash on their head as chicks then they were roosters and if they have a small white dot on their head (size of a pin) then they’re a pullet.

that’s what I found with my last batch of Rocks anyway. The method was accurate for me. But now I’m confused because your Blue is clearly a girl but as a chick I would have said a Roo for sure.

So, Blue is a hatchery barred rock, we are baffled by her too, maybe she has too much of some other breed or a recessive trait? I noticed that her neck feathers actually have a white lace around the edge, so a laced barred pattern.

I think your method is still sound, Blue is a complete outlier. We really like her though, she is a unique beauty.

I just posted a very similar question. I think I have one barred rock roo and one hen but I'm going to have to wait and see a bit after seeing your post just in case. I'm so happy yours turned out to be a pullet!

She must be of poorer quality or a mix. I think the extra white might be from some sort of silver leakage. I *think* barred rocks might already carry the silver gene but don't quote me on that.
